1. Who is Eso?

I am kind, empathetic and loving. I am bold in all areas of my life, faith, fashion, and actions. I have a lifestyle blog, work in beauty and administration and love all things creative. I am always looking for ways to be of service to others and growing as a human being. My favorite color is orange which captures the essence of my character: I can be bright and bubbly like a marigold or sophisticated and reserved like chrysanthemum.

2. What inspired you to create your own blog and who is your audience?

When I was 19 years old I started losing my hair. It was a pivotal time in my development. I had many questions and few places to turn. As I came to love a new version of myself I wanted to help someone going through it. I want to inspire everyone to accept a different form of beauty. It’s called bold because during the process I found a boldness that empowered my fashion and faith becoming my lifestyle. My Audience is those who are bald, those who have loved ones who have become bald, and those who make bold moves.

3. What does 'kindness' mean to you?

Kindness means caring for others and showing them love. It looks like taking a moment out of your day to say “how are you?” and hearing the the response. It means trying to understand others’ differences without judgment. It means loving someone as yourself. It is the cure to selfishness and so powerful that it could make or break someone’s day.

4. What is the most impactful display of kindness you've ever experienced?

My family, they are the ones who pour out kindness and love into me. They taught me to be kind to others, each in their own way. My older brother has a heart for the homeless and used to chat with them and bring them home for a warm cooked meal. My other brother would plow our neighbors yard without being asked in order to make someone else’s life a little easier. And my mom has a heart for the mentally challenged showing me that behind our differences at the core we are all humans. Their acts and hearts for others were probably unrewarded but made a huge impact the lives of others and mine just by being kind.

5. Share an experience in which your dedication to kindness prevailed and changed the outcome of a difficult situation.

I work at a beauty store and people often come in for all different needs. I really try to make myself available and present to everyone I service. I had one client come in to get a sample at the register and asked her about why she was interested in that product. We began to converse and found that we had similarities in the concern she was facing. I was able to help her in a way I never would have been able to if I didn't take a moment to be a listening ear and suggest a product. Yes, you can say it’s my job to provide customer service and that’s true, but there is something about a honest and concerned heart that takes it to another level. It takes an action and transforms it to a feeling and lasting experience. We live busy lives but I never want to say I could have helped by being an ear but couldn’t even give that. We are human, we want connection, we want to be seen, we all want to experience kindness.

6. Who inspires you the most?

Jesus. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for a friend says the Bible, and the more I get to know His heart, the easier being kind is for me. He is the epitome of love and kindness.

7. What sets KAE apart from other brands?

KAE is a message, it inspires action, and transcends age, race, or gender. It is a lifestyle. It is a brand of which we don’t need to build a message around. The brand is the message. It’s something pure in a market saturated with fluff.

8. Why do you want to be a KAE ambassador?

It’s like having a cake, taking a piece, and saying it’s so good I have to run and share it. That’s what kindness and the brand KAE is like. I have been a KAE customer for years and the beanie was the first hat I bought after discovering I had alopecia. It reminded me to be kind through the circumstance.
